MONSTERS AND GHOSTS!

So... 2010... it's started out pretty good. Just wanted to write briefly about a couple of projects the family has been involved in. First of all, Jaden Amara was asked to be the main girl in a "Toys for Tots" commercial. It's supposed to air next year around Christmas. She did pretty well. A day of filming and done. Who wouldn't want that pretty face to be their star? Then the rest of us... our buddy Quinn who is a student at Columbia in NYC is studying film and had to make a 5 minute movie. I think it' s called "It's Natural to be Afraid". (or maybe that was a working title - I don't know) Anyway, Carson was the star of that. He played a kid who was afraid of a monster in his room. Clarissa played his sweet, attentive mother and I played his terrible bi-polar step- dad who eventually suffers a horrible, bloody, off-screen death. It was a great time and Carson, well, he's a natural... even though his sister, after hearing his first scream of the movie said to me, "he's not a very good actor." What a snot! So, maybe it'll go on to win in some film festival and maybe it'll just be a learning experience. Either way, there's not much opportunity for this type of thing here in corn-country so we were thankful for the chance to do this. All this acting from my children made me realize that they are at that age... it's time for me to resurrect my ghost musical, "Mr. Silver's Children." They would play such wonderful dead kids!

SUPERMEN FOR 2010!!!

I'm still gathering my thoughts to prepare my amazing blogs for 2010, but I thought I better post something for my 5 faithful followers. I actually am hard at work on sheet music for "Tired American Dream" so EVERY spare minute is consumed (even at work where my blog comes from - shhhh... don't tell)! Anywho... I am not one for resolutions and have never thought there's much magic in the "10,9,8... Happy New Year!" thing, mostly because people count it down and then go on being the same donkeys they were the year before. But this year I am excited about! It's just a gut feeling that it's going to be a banner year. I made a bunch of resolutions and a bunch of promises to my kids and Clarissa (mostly in regards to spending more time with them) and a list of personal goals and dreams. I talk to alot of people who say they don't believe in resolutions (and like I said, me either) but I really feel like re-focusing is always good and the New Year seems like a nice little time to do it. I hope all goes well for all of you in 2010! I may (MAY) start a separate blog, highlighting my journey through the staging of my show. I am starting a "scrapbook" to document all, so it may all prove to be too much. But anyway, keep on the lookout for that!
"HERE'S TO THE FUTURE! CHEERS TO THE FUTURE!" (that's from "Tired American Dream") May you all be Wonderwomen and Supermen in 2010!!! GOD BLESS! - DC
